Chapter 7: From “Yes” to Forever (ਤੂੰ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ)

The silence after Raman’s heartfelt words wasn’t really silence. It was full of emotions, questions, and a strange calm that I had never experienced before. Somewhere in the depths of my heart, a seed of love had already been sown — one that I was scared to nurture, but Raman’s honesty was giving it sunlight.

He kept waiting on the call, gently urging,
“Bola na... wo magical words, jo main sunna chahta hoon…”

I don’t know what gave me the courage, but I softly said,
“I love you too…”
That was it. A new journey began that night — silently, beautifully, without any grand drama — just the honesty of two hearts finally connecting.

From that moment, there was a shift in the way we spoke, the way we looked at each other, the way we felt. Every conversation, every message, every meeting started to carry more meaning. But we both were still cautious — testing this new feeling with care, and slowly discovering a comfort that felt like home.

We started noticing little things more deeply —
Like how we unknowingly chose matching clothes,
How we would think of the same song at the same time,
How we could read each other’s silence…

We were not a couple who flaunted their love. We remained our reserved selves, but now there was a quiet layer of togetherness over everything.

Raman began treating me with more tenderness — caring for my moods, noticing my unspoken needs, and always making sure I never felt alone. I, on the other hand, found myself trusting him more than I had trusted anyone before. His love wasn’t loud, but it was deep — and slowly, I started believing in it.

But just like everything in life, nothing stayed smooth forever. As our bond deepened, so did the challenges. Balancing our emotions, handling our own insecurities, and protecting this fragile new relationship from judgment wasn’t easy. But we were trying, together.

Looking back now, I realize — that moment on the call wasn’t just a proposal, it was a beginning of promises, fears, strength, and vulnerability… all wrapped in those magical words.

And yes, from that day onwards, my heart was no longer mine — it beat in sync with Raman’s.
